During our weekday get-away, we had lovely weather and enjoyed the fall colors. Driving back home through Yellowstone Park, we had expected to see some herds of elk. It was the wrong time of day though -the only animals we saw were a few scattered herds of buffalo, and a lone elk cow cooling herself down in the river.
We've actually seen more wildlife at home this week, than during our quick trip through the Park. There seems to be extra-large numbers of birds, voles, and deer all about.
This guy was peering in our window right before I took this photo. Since he had just eaten about half the flowers off my chrysanthemum plant, I asked him to kindly move along!
