About Me

Hello and Welcome!

Thanks for taking the time to explore my blog.  I hope you enjoy it and visit often.  This is the page where you can learn a little bit about me.

Just a little background about the person writing this blog ...

This is me :)

Growing up:

I was born in Canada, and I have an identical twin and two younger sisters.  No brothers - but it was fun growing up in a family of four girls! I have traveled extensively, lived and worked overseas, and resided in several different time zones in the United States.

My Education and Occupations:

Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I obtained a B.S. degree in Nursing.  I have worked as both a registered nurse and health educator in a variety of settings (three hospitals, a school and a ship). When my kids were born, I became a stay-at-home mom, which was the best choice for our family (and me!)  I have been involved in many volunteer projects and served on various Boards and Committees.

My Family:

I have been married for about twenty-five years, and my husband and I have had many wonderful adventures together.  The best thing we ever did was having our two kids. Even though we enjoy them now as much as ever, we both feel like our children have grown up much too quickly.

My son is now in high school and my daughter is in college. Nothing is, or ever has been, better than being their mom.

My Blogging Story:

I surprised even myself when I started this blog!

I have never been very computer savvy and didn't even join Facebook until 2011!  Somehow though, my venture into freelance writing led to getting published online, and from there things have snowballed.  I now pin on Pinterest, tweet on Twitter, post on Instagram, and on March 14, 2014, I hit publish for my very first blog post!

Blogging is every bit as fun as I suspected. I love how it gives me a chance to read, write, publish, and be creative. I hope to inform and inspire, not only myself but my readers as well.

My husband and kids have been unbelievable supportive of my time spent pursuing these creative endeavors.  I am so lucky.

Now let's get started.

It's time to make the most -- of every moment.

I'm so glad you're here!

  2. I just checked the article out. It looks really helpful - thanks for passion the info along Lana!
Such an unusual name for a blog too! Choosing a blog name was a challenge - I thought of a bunch that were already taken before I finally picked "the most - - of every moment" … but "pecked to death by chickens" never entered my mind! I love her explanation as to why she named it that!

  3. Hi Susan: Seems like we have a bit in common, Canada and nursing, and blogging, of course. I'm still stumbling about. I find WordPress a little easier to maneuver around.

    1. Thanks for your comment! I just read your interesting bio - and the explanation of your name. Wondering if you prefer to be addressed as Hafong or Leung or ... Lilly?
I am still a stumbling blogger too, but I'm learning more every day. I'm interested that you find WordPress easier to maneuver, as I started on blogger because I had heard it was easiest to use, even though people said WordPress was more customizable. (My computer skills are pretty limited!)
      Glad you stopped by.

  4. I didn't do ANYTHING on social media until last year so I relate with you totally and learning more everyday. And everyday I feel a bit overwhelmed. Hearing you say you are in a similar position was an encouragement - I am not alone. Thank you

    1. Carol - it seems the more I learned the more I am overwhelmed but what I do not know! But we both know a lot more than we did 6 months ago - and we will know more 6 months from now! Thanks for all of your support!

  6. Very nice to "meet" you, Susan! I love the idea behind your blog of enjoying every moment.

Where did you live in Spain? I spent a summer in Granada awhile back. Looks like you have had quite an adventurous life -- in line with your blog name!

  7. Hi Lori,
Thanks for stopping by and your nice comments! Granada is a beautiful place. I lived in Mallorca, and have traveled through Spain quite a bit. I miss it - and I hope to plan a trip there some time soon!

  8. Glad to meet you Susan. I understand perfectly why you started a blog. Restless souls reaching out. I love the calm and beauty of your neck of the woods. I also noticed you had been to Greece before. I am still "stuck" there. As beautiful as it is, there is no future for the young people.

Looking forward to reading more of your great posts!
